02 Oct Update: The Rifles Cadet Cup
The Trust would like to say a massive well done to you all!
Text taken from Shropshire Army Cadet Force Facebook page:
“Shropshire Army Cadet Force are of the cadets who successfully participated in this year’s Rifles Cadet Cup, where they placed 8th out of 12 teams, a commendable result, especially given the challenge of being one team member down. The event took place at Sennybridge Training Area and tested the cadets’ resilience and teamwork in a demanding, full-day competition.
The team faced advanced challenges, including a full Infantry Section Attack, a stretcher carry with weighted loads and weapon systems, intensive communications and infantry weapons testing, and other rigorous military tasks. Despite the tough conditions, the cadets performed admirably, showcasing their grit and determination throughout the event.
The cadets thoroughly enjoyed the experience, led by instructors from 6 Rifles, the Infantry Training School at Catterick, the newly formed Ranger Regiment, and Reserves. A highlight of the day was meeting the Colonel Cadets and receiving their Rifles Cup TRF for their uniforms.
This achievement not only reflects the hard work of the cadets but also gives Shropshire ACF a solid foundation for next year, with relevant training already planned to build on this success. CSM James extended his thanks to RSMI Norton, AUO Giles, and Colour Steeples for their support, the Cadets for their tremendous effort, the PSS for supplying essential kit, and, of course, the parents for their unwavering support.
The county looks forward to building on this achievement and aiming even higher in future competitions! Well done all.
