On Sunday 15th September 2024, Lord-Lieutenant Cadet Company Sergeant Major Izzy McAree supported the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire Mrs Jenny Wynn OBE DL,  as she attended the re-dedicated service of the Albrighton War Memorial.

The moving service was arranged by Albrighton Parish Council and led by Rev Mary Thomas of St Mary Magdelene Church.

The event was attended by families of the soldiers named on the memorial as well as those involved with the fundraising, local dignitaries and Albrighton residents.

Mrs Wynn was escorted by Lord-Lieutenant Cadets ACF Cadet Company Sergeant Major Izzy McAree and SCC Leading Cadet Markus Filmonovs.

The Lord-Lieutenant’s cadet nominations reward remarkable dedication in young people who have shown outstanding commitment and achievements in their cadet training.
