Cadets Attend Parachute Course, but Weather Delays Solo Jumps.

Text taken from Shropshire Army Cadet Force Facebook page:
Over the weekend (08th-10th August), 12 Cadets and 4 CFAVs from Shropshire ACF participated in a solo static line parachute course at the Army Parachute Association in Netheravon, Salisbury Plain, as part of their ongoing Adventure Training (AT) programs. The course involved six hours of intensive training, culminating in what would have been a solo jump to qualify participants for future solo parachuting.
Unfortunately, weather conditions proved unfavorable, with wind gusts exceeding the 15 mph limit required for the first solo static line jumps. Despite several potential opportunities, conditions never improved, leading to extended periods of waiting and ultimately, disappointment as the jumps had to be postponed.
On a positive note, all participants successfully completed the ground training and are now eligible to return and complete their solo jumps once the weather allows. Further updates will be provided by the County Training Officer (CTO) upon his return from holiday.
A big thank you is extended to the CFAVs who made the event possible, despite the challenges, including late nights and extensive driving, your efforts are very much appreciated by the Cadets and the HQ team.
